Blooming Aussie native tree

 on

This tree is blooming currently in abundance across Sydney. It’s delicate and voluminous flower structure reminds me of Belgian lace – intricate and beautiful.

I hope someone can point me to a proper name for the tree.

  • Your off-tone photo doesn’t give an idea of the flowers’ real colour. Also I’m not sure whether the flowers actually open more than that when they blossom.
Could it be the same tree as this: http://sydneydailysnap.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
??? (my Sydney blog in Dec last year)
In which case you’d have the name…

  • Wish I could help with a name, but I’m helpless.
Love the intricate pattern, beautifully captured!

  • Very beautyful shot. The lighting is great. I like the texture
