Cute girl in purple beret, orange stockings, one black and one white shoe.

Most of my street photography is presented in black and white but from time to time there are photographs that need to be presented in colour. Take for example the photo of this cute girl in purple beret. She is wearing bright orange stockings and just to make sure she draws enough attention one of her shoes is white and the other one is black. She was standing in front of Sydney Town Hall and talked to her friends. This is a busy place with many people passing by. Yet, in few minutes I was there no one even looked at her once. I guess it takes a lot to be noticed in the crowd.

Yes, most of your street shots are in b/w but this is definitely a case where color was needed. By her dress, it certainly seems like she was trying to draw attention to herself. I’m surprised no one was noticing her though (other than you). Guess people are being blasted w/ so much stimuli now from all sources that they don’t notice things that would have immediately drawn their attention even a couple of years ago. Sadly, people have become numb to not only their surroundings but to their fellow human beings.
