Story behind the photograph
I have been on a couple of short trips to Wisemans Ferry recently.
It is a popular destination for a day trip. The place is serene, historic and simply beautiful. The local pub serves fantastic steaks if you are in a mood for hearty lunch.
However, getting there can be a challenge even for an experienced rider or driver. The road is narrow and winding, with many blind curves and rough shoulder surface. There is no safe spots to pull over and take a picture for long stretches of the road. It is simply too dangerous.
The photo shown here was taken close to Gunderman, where I was finally able to pull over. It is a nice place too, with fences and seemingly endless line of trees on both sides of the road creating an ideal perspective landscape.
Wisemans Ferry – strongly recommended destination for a day trip, but please, take care while driving there.
