We had few hours spare in Auckland before our flight back to Australia. Not enough for a trip to one of the many attractions Auckland has to offer, but too many to sit in the airport and wait. We decided to visit the Auckland Botanic Gardens, and we were pleasantly surprised.
My daughter loves taking flower macros so she was in her element. With over 8000 plant species on display there is plenty of subject choices for a nature photographer. While I took a fair bit of plant photographs too I think my best photograph of the day was this capture of a statue in a very dramatic pose taken near Perennial Garden. It seems to be frozen in a “what have I done” moment.
