Sydney Tower sun reflection

 on

On one of my recent walks I went through a short cut created by a shopping arcade at the corner of King and Pitt Street. There was nothing remarkable there. Same shops as always and few people having lunch break at the tables in the middle. As I was about to exist the shopping arcade a few people were going in the opposite direction in rather a big group and I have stepped aside to let them through. I turned around only to be blinded by strong sun reflection of something “up there”. I moved a little to the side to position the transparent roof’s supporting structure in the middle of that reflection so I could have a look without being blinded. The sun was reflecting of the Sydney Tower in quite an unusual way. It almost looked like a white, intense flame, which you can see in the above photograph.

Lunchtime scene

Another photo taken at Sydney Post office building. The arcade there creates fantastic light even in the middle of the day and since it is also very popular spot to have lunch there are a lot of people sitting on the steps, at the out door tables or simply waiting for their friends to arrive like the pictured young lady.
