Few days ago I posted a photograph of an armoured personnel carrier parked next to Australia Square. Today I found three of these “tanks” in a imposing set-up on a small Angel Place street.

These vintage military vehicles are part of installation art by artist Adam Norton, who sourced three ex-army vehicles from private collectors. Norton’s vision here is to show people of Sydney how much freedom they have and emphasise we are still the “lucky country”

Armoured personnel carrier at a crossing

An old, armoured personnel carrier at a crossing rolled through the streets of Sydney today and parked just outside of Australia Square. There were few television crews, lots of reporters and photographers and yet no one could tell me what the occasion or the reason for it to be there was. It created a little sessantion as it was parked in a very busy spot during the lunch time.
