I photographed this young couple napping in Hyde Park. Surrounded by fallen, dry leaves they looked so peaceful. Embraced closely with entangled legs they seemed worlds apart from the people crossing the park on their way from work.
This sign made me wonder: what society we live in when people advertise they give free hugs away. And yes, there were plenty of takers. Passers by of different ages came up to this man and embraced Juan Mann. I’m not sure who benefited more from it but it left me with a mixed feeling. On one hand it is a very cordial act and on another it would indicate that there are a lot of lonely people out there not getting moral and emotional support from their close ones.
