Window and a wheel

 on

Here is an interesting sight I came across in the Power House Museum. We visit the museum probably twice a year and always find something eye opening. This year I think the nuclear medicine exhibit was such exhibit.

As usual I take my camera and hope to find something unique, interesting and most of all photogenic. Photographing museum pieces by themselves is not really that interesting to me. Never the less from time to time I do find a rewarding view. This time as we were exiting more modern part of the museum and entering old vehicles I noticed a window in the wall exposing part of a big timber wheel on on old horse cart. The light was good and the composition appeared by itself. Horizontal and vertical lines of a flat window open to timber textures of radial lines of the wheel spokes.

Discarded bicycle

 on

I found this discarded bicycle on the beach at Terrigal. I guess people throw out many things but the state of this bicycle indicated some major abuse. Its has malformed frame and handlebars not to mention totally demolished wheel. It looks like a result of some violent, thoughtless act.

And just a reminder yesterday was a Clean Up Australia Day.
